Equivalent to simply efficiency of plating as the term is typically employed.
Relative efficiency of plating in other words is plating efficiency on one indicator strain or under one set of conditions as it occur relative to plating efficiency under different circumstances. Typically this is with a permissive host as well as permission conditions in comparison with potentially less permissive hosts or conditions. Contrast with absolute plating efficiency.
